Other ways eBay supports the community

eBay Foundation

The eBay Foundation supports our communities through local grants and employee volunteerism efforts.
eBay Foundation was established in 1998, underscoring the company’s early commitment to philanthropy. Over the years, eBay Foundation has made investments toward a vision of all people being able to participate fully in the global economy.

eBay Foundation* GIVE Teams, made up of employee-volunteers globally, select a number of non-profits each year to receive eBay Foundation grants. This way, employees globally are directly involved in recommending grants to organisations that are the most important to them. In 2011 the Australian GIVE team gave two separate grants to The Birthing Kit Foundation and The National Scholarship Program in Australia.

Continued support of Ronald McDonald House

eBay supports the Ronald McDonald House in Randwick, with local employees cooking a meal once a month for the kids and their families. Every year Ronald McDonald house welcomes more than 670 families from regional areas across Australia and the South Pacific. Some stay for a week or two, others for a couple of months, and others haven’t been able to go home in more than a year, while their children undergo treatment for a range of serious conditions. Find out more.

*eBay Foundation reaches out directly to potential partner organisations for information or receives recommendations for GIVE Team grants directly from our employees, and does not accept unsolicited grant proposals. Thank you.
